Although this website is the home for both Life and Health (Wisdom) UK for UK viewers, and Life and Health Wisdom Online (Worldwide) for Worldwide viewers, I’m going to shorten that to just ‘Life and Health Wisdom’ for short, or just Life’ for very short. So welcome to Life’!
I’m James Blacker, your host, and before we get into all the things we have available here, there are many ways to measure and improve one’s life, but I’m going to invite you to start by focusing on just two.
- Being True to Yourself
- And Listening to Your Body
By focusing on these two, main, self-assessment measures you can have and run for yourself a very simple way of assessing whether you’re moving in the right direction for you, or not, in any given moment.
These two principles are powerfully central to anything related to success at a wisdom level, and they are also interdependent – be assured that they work in tandem.
Have you ever had to choose between two passions, momentarily picked the wrong one and felt the corresponding deflation in your body? This is an example of how the mind and the body interact and work together, virtually as one unit. These two measures work together, and enhance each other. Following one will help to enhance the other. They rarely if ever point you in different directions. And following both will drive you forward much more effectively than anything else I can think of.

In these pages we’ll look at many things that can improve and maximise your life, both for you as an individual, and for all of us as communities, families and nations. We’ll look at ourselves through various different ways of seeing what we are doing, and they all have some value, but most of all I recommend to you sticking hard and fast to these two principles of Being True to Yourself, and Listening to Your Body.
And realise that both Life, and you, are much more amazing than you could possibly have imagined.
The World is opening up. It’s a time of great opportunity and great challenge. There will be pain and there will be joy, and every resource counts, from the dollars in our pockets, the actions we take and the way we use our possessions, material resources and time, to the words and thoughts we share with others.

UK Sleep Expert Dr Neil Stanley
As well as my own writings and resources, I also have the privilege to occasionally work with many other experts in their field, and one such of these is the UK’s top sleep expert, Dr Neil Stanley.
Dr Stanley and I recorded the Good Sleep Audio Presentation some years back, and I also also interviewed him a number of other times, from which I have been able to write further sleep related articles of my own, based on his advice. Neil is also the former Chairman of The British Sleep Society.

What is Wisdom?

I am also currently involved in an effort to communicate to those involved in teaching and writing about wisdom, and the question of ‘What is Wisdom?’ across the top sites around the internet that wisdom actually has a very distinct and useful definition: ‘The capacity to understand Emptiness’.
This is a very useful definition to answer the question ‘What is Wisdom?’ because it gives a practical and usable framework for confirming whether or not one’s actions in any given moment are coming from a place of wisdom, or not, and so also allows people to more easily see how they can apply that principle to the various areas of their lives; their health, their relationships and friendships, their work, their finances, and even their time.
